Dreaming of Mom

Master, I had a dream about my mom who is currently away. She looked beautiful in the dream, and I dreamt that our family moved to a different place, a one-bedroom house without a kitchen. Inside the room, I noticed a cabinet on the right side of the wall next to the door. Then, for some reason, the bed was a bunk bed, similar to the ones on a train, very narrow and small. I was on the top bunk and almost fell off; it felt terrifying.

Next, the scene shifted to outside the building, and I saw flooding, but it wasn't severe, just waist-deep. It seemed to be a drainage issue. The water was dirty, so I ran to a hillside where I didn't get wet. Eventually, the water receded, and the drainage improved. The flooding happened in front of the entrance gate of the residential complex. Initially, the situation was bad, with many people wading through waist-deep water. I ran to a hillside and stood there to avoid the water. I didn't touch the water because it was dirty and murky.

Later, it seemed like the drainage problem was resolved because I saw the water slowly receding.

Dream interpretation by the master: The image of your mother in the dream can be understood as the idealized version of yourself, a more mature version resembling your mother. It is common to use close same-sex relatives as role models for personal development during our growth process. The beautifully dressed mother in the dream represents your perception or aspiration for your own image. You are growing and becoming more mature, and at the same time, more charismatic.

Moving to a different place represents a change in your mental state and growth. The new environment symbolizes a shift from the familiar surroundings you were accustomed to. Your development has reached a new stage, although it may still be incomplete. The absence of a kitchen, an essential place for home life and nourishment, suggests that you are still in the process of constructing and seeking a state of balance. The presence of a cabinet on the right side of the wall next to the door indicates a future aspect of yourself. The appearance of the cabinet can provide further insights through its details.

The bunk bed implies an unstable and insecure state, like being suspended or unsettled. In some aspects, you may feel a lack of belongingness or stability. The narrow and small size of the bed is also uncomfortable, indicating the need for a more spacious and comfortable environment where you can feel secure and belong.

The flooding represents emotional overflow or emotional turmoil. The dirty water signifies trouble or unpleasantness that needs to be addressed or resolved. The drainage issue symbolizes the outlet for emotional release. In this case, the outlet is blocked, preventing you from effectively expressing your emotions and resulting in emotional conflicts. The waist-deep water suggests that your instinctual side is submerged, while your upper body remains above the water surface, representing the interplay between emotions and rationality. This indicates that the trouble you feel is related to the inadequate release of certain instinctual energies. In response to this trouble, you seek refuge on a hillside, which can be seen as an escape. The hillside, being elevated and devoid of water, represents a detachment from emotions. You are avoiding trouble by distancing yourself emotionally.

Finally, in the dream, the drainage issue is resolved, and the water recedes. This can be seen as a dream function, allowing the release of pent-up emotions and providing some relief from psychological pressure, thus promoting psychological harmony.
