Deciphering Nightmares and Dream Interpretation
Nightmare generally refers to frightening ghosts that scare people; therefore, nightmares refer to people being frightened by the sleep demon. During nightmares, although people's consciousness is blurred, their muscles are completely relaxed, they dream frequently, and they are unable to move or breathe smoothly. It feels like someone is choking your neck and there is a sense of oppression. Additionally, there may be instances of momentary breath holding.
During such times, if accompanied by bad dreams, people are certainly affected by nightmares.
However, the above explanations are still not sufficient.
The reasons why "nightmares" occur during specific periods have not been fully deciphered.
Methods of dream interpretation:
Dream interpretation cannot have objective standards like dictionaries or lexicons. Even the most comprehensive dream interpretation books cannot provide completely correct answers.
When interpreting dreams, people should first recall the environment in which they dreamt and then interpret the dream. When interpreting dreams, one should not limit themselves to the surface of the dream but delve deeper into its underlying content, making dream interpretation particularly challenging. For example, "fish frolicking in a creek," where the "creek" symbolizes the progress of things, and the "fish" symbolizes the doer of things or the progress of important matters.
In a broader sense, it also signifies that things are likely to be delayed and encourages a more diligent attitude. After waking up from a dream, there are times when the dream is remembered correctly and times when it is remembered intermittently, which adds to the difficulty of dream interpretation. However, it is not necessary to recall when, where, or what one did; instead, it is more important to consider the thoughts, feelings, and reactions during the dream.
In other words, whether one felt pleasure or satisfaction is what truly matters. When interpreting dreams, one should not rely on dictionaries but rather approach it from the perspective of common sense.
