Teenagers' Sexual Dream Stories
During adolescence, both boys and girls often have dreams with sexual content, known as "sexual dreams." Sexual dreams are quite common. In a study conducted with 250 college students, researchers found that 66.4% of them had dreams related to "sexual experiences" (mainly referring to sexual intercourse). If other forms of sexual content are included, almost everyone has had such dreams.
Psychologists believe that sexual dreams are the spontaneous manifestation of repressed sexual desires and impulses in the subconscious mind. They are considered a normal sign of sexual and psychological development. The natural release of sexual dreams acts as a safety valve, helping to alleviate accumulated sexual tension and promoting the maturation and development of sexual organs.
Sexual content in dreams can take various forms, such as seeing naked members of the opposite sex, kissing, hugging, being sexually touched, touching others sexually, or engaging in sexual intercourse.
The appearance of opposite-sex figures in dreams can sometimes be clear, while other times they may be vague. Occasionally, dreams may involve sexual contact with individuals of the same sex, even though the dreamers themselves do not have observable homosexual tendencies. Similarly, dreams may include themes of sexual assault (such as rape), even though the individuals having such dreams do not have a tendency toward sexual assault. Therefore, there is no need to excessively worry about the abnormal behaviors that may occur in sexual dreams.
The objects of desire in sexual dreams are not consciously chosen. According to survey reports, the objects of desire in sexual dreams may be individuals with whom one has deep but unconsummated affection, classmates, neighbors, relatives, or even complete strangers whom one has only seen once and had no interaction with.
The content of sexual dreams in males is fragmented and often difficult to recall clearly afterward, similar to other types of dreams. Individuals without sexual experience can only reach the level of sexual knowledge they have seen, thought about, or heard in their dreams. Those who have had sexual experiences may repeat the content of their past experiences. However, female sexual dreams differ from those of males. Females often vividly recall the detailed content of their dreams upon waking up, and it can significantly influence their emotions and behavior. Some individuals even believe they have been drugged and raped by a man in their dreams, causing extreme panic, distress, and some may even take legal action.
According to a story from the 17th century, a group of nuns in a London convent accused a very handsome local priest of using witchcraft on them every night, causing them to fall into a state of unconsciousness and then sexually assaulting them. Initially, only the abbess was believed to have been "violated," but later, all the nuns in the convent claimed to have experienced the same "encounters." As a result, the innocent priest was burned alive.
The reason behind this incident was that the nuns admired the young and attractive priest, which led to sexual dreams. Based on their hysterical personalities, they took their dreams to be true and falsely accused the priest of assault.
