Dreaming of Weapons

Dreaming of using weapons in the rain is an unfavorable omen. For heroes, such a dream signifies a lack of fame and success, as their talents may be overlooked. Sometimes, weapons in dreams have symbolic meanings. When a woman dreams of a man wielding a weapon and attacking her, it often represents the man's sexual desires towards her. In these dreams, the woman may feel frightened and run away, but deep down, she may crave a more assertive and aggressive approach from men in her life. The true fear of the dreamer lies in her own desires: the desire to be conquered and sexually possessed by a man.

For men, dreaming of weapons can also represent sexuality, especially when the "opponent" in the dream is a woman. However, at other times, it can symbolize aggression, hostility, anger, or different aspects of one's own psyche. Occasionally, weapons are used for self-defense against terrifying enemies, indicating a life filled with excessive tension and anxiety.

Dream interpretations in the Book of Changes (Yi Jing) suggest that weapons symbolize varying degrees of power and authority. Losing, surrendering, discarding, giving away, selling, stealing, damaging, scrapping, or lending weapons all symbolize a loss of power.

Dreaming of engaging in combat with weapons symbolizes disputes with certain individuals. Shooting someone with arrows symbolizes discussing or criticizing someone. Shooting someone with arrows in a dream represents making authoritative statements in written communications. Beating or whipping someone with a stick represents vindicating someone and defending them against public accusations. Decapitating others, cutting flesh from their bodies, or mutilating their limbs all indicate attempts to sow discord and harm relationships.

Dreaming of wielding an unsheathed sword signifies having great power and control. A damaged sword hilt represents bad news concerning one's parents. The condition of the sword hilt, whether good or bad, indicates the fortunes of one's parents.

A damaged sword blade represents the loss of a mother or grandmother or another female relative.

According to Addaf al-Jawshan, dreaming of holding a sword or killing without shedding blood symbolizes discussing the virtues and vices of others.

Dreaming of being killed and covered in blood is a sign of committing sins and seriously defying the divine.

Dreaming of killing someone and being contaminated by blood indicates facing criticism or gaining ill-gotten wealth.

Wearing a sword is a sign of authority. Wearing a sword that is too long signifies being overwhelmed and indecisive, while wearing one that is too short signifies short-lived and unsatisfying positions. A broken sword indicates leaving a job.

Dreaming of a rusty sword can signify difficulty in communication and people's resistance to accepting your ideas. It can also indicate the birth of a foolish and incompetent son or acquiring a useless position. Dreaming of a sword without an edge or a blunt sword symbolizes futility and uselessness.

Dreaming of holding a spear or other weapons symbolizes empowerment, smooth success, and achieving goals. If only a spear is held without other weapons, it symbolizes the birth of a son or younger brother. If the spearhead is missing, it represents the birth of a daughter. The quality of the spear indicates the outcome of a particular situation.
