Three Diagnostic Criteria for Psychogenic Fugue

The diagnostic criteria for psychogenic fugue are as follows:

(1) The primary disturbance is sudden and unplanned travel away from home or work, during which the patient cannot recall the past.

(2) Adopting a new self-designed role, either partially or entirely.

(3) This disorder is not caused by multiple personality disorder or organic mental disorders.

The above criteria are listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-III).
